Thousands of Carnival Cruise Passengers Impacted by Delayed Embarkation
Carnival Cruise Line has issued an apology after leaving thousands of passengers outside in the heat due to delayed embarkation at PortMiami for the Carnival Magic.
Thousands of Carnival Passengers Were Delayed
Thousands of Carnival cruise passengers were left suffering in the Florida heat on Sunday due to the embarkation process for Carnival Magic being delayed. Many passengers who were waiting outside the terminal at PortMiami posted on social media of their anger.
At the time the cruise line was responding via Twitter:
Embarkation at PortMiami for today’s voyage of Carnival Magic has been delayed due to several factors, including late debarkation from a previous voyage.

There was apparently an unexplained delay due to several factors and it also impacted the guests who were ending their 7-night voyage which departed the port on April 7.

Those waiting outside were suffering from high heat with some even needing medical attention. The delay apparently lasted several hours and the cruise line did eventually provide water and free transport to the local Bayside mall which features a range of food outlets.
Hello @CarnivalCruise ‼️ We’ve been stranded outside in the heat and sun since this morning, awaiting to board our ship, which we were supposed to board at 1.
No water, no sunscreen, no food. Is it delayed because you’re dumping stuff in the ocean? Lmk #CarnivalMagic pic.twitter.com/29ioXErPoj

As posted online, there were huge lines outside the terminal. The embarkation process will usually begin at around 11:00 AM depending on how fast guests from the previous cruise are disembarked. It is not usual to have a delay in this case for so long.

Carnival Cruise Line did release an apology which stated “Embarkation for the next voyage is ongoing and we expect no impact on the itinerary of this next seven-day cruise. Carnival sincerely apologizes for this inconvenience and appreciates our guests’ patience and understanding.”
The embarkation process did eventually begin at around 4:00 PM and the April 14 7-night western Caribbean itinerary was not impacted. Let’s just hope guests are having a great time on the current cruise and there will be no more delays when the Carnival Magic returns to Miami on April 21.
